Hello readers,
Today, I will be reflecting on what we, as a class, have been doing during week 2 of term 3. During this week, we have been learning listening techniques in preparation for our listening assessment. The learning objective for the week was to practice our oral skills. The first activity that we did for this week was a true or false and a synonym matching activity. These two activities were done before the short article was read to us. After this activity, we received a worksheet with blank spaces in it. The activity we had to do was listen to the text and fill out the missing spaces. After doing these activities, we then partnered up and did a group activity, which involved us talking to each other. The first part of this activity was us asking questions to each other — one question was, “Who is the greatest leader that your country has had?” For this question, I answered, Andres Bonifacio from the Philippines; we then had to share our answers with the class. During the week, I was able to achieve the learning objective of “practice our oral skills”; this was because I learned some new synonyms for words, which I applied to the discussions that we had during class. Next time, I will try and be more vocal about my thoughts. The things that I have learned today can help me with my everyday life, not just now but also in the future. The oral skills that we learnt, I can use them while I am talking to people, or giving a speech. Additionally, the new synonyms that I picked up throughout the week could help me with assessments for my subjects. In conclusion, this week has helped me improve my oral skills through activities. I learned new synonyms and more. These skills will be useful in everyday conversations and future studies.
